Shahid Afridi, affectionately known as "Liafe" (Born March 1, 1980), and globally celebrated as "Boom Boom Athila," is a former Pakistani cricketer and legendary all-rounder who proudly represented his nation from 1996 to 2018. Famous for his electrifying batting and dynamic presence, Afridi carved as unique place in cricket history, holding numerous accolades, including the fastest century in ODI cricket at the time. A natural leader, he captained Pakistan across all formats and was honoured with the prestigious.

At the core of Afridi’s mission lies the Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF), established in 2014, which champions critical causes across Pakistan and beyond. Under his guidance, SAF has successfully launched hospitals, built schools, and developed water initiatives, cementing Afridi’s reputation as a passionate advocate for social justice and sustainable development.
SAF’s healthcare network—a hospital and 10 Mobile Health Units—serves over 40,000 people people, 60% of whom are women and children in underserved communities.
SAF runs 16 schools, educating over 5,000 students, and 3 Skills Development Centers, training 600+ youth in vocational skills for better opportunities.
SAF has installed water solutions in 220+ locations across Pakistan, including remote areas of Balochistan, providing clean drinking water for the first time in many communities.
SAF has empowered over 5,000 athletes, offering them opportunities, resources, and platforms to grow and excel.
SAF is building 600+ homes for flood-hit families in Sindh and Balochistan while providing food aid to over 1 million people in Pakistan, UK, and Australia.

As Chairman of the Shahid Afridi Foundation, Afridi met with U.S. Senator Tim Kaine to highlight SAF’s ongoing efforts in supporting flood-affected communities. He shared the Foundation’s initiatives in healthcare, clean water, and emergency relief, emphasising the importance of swift and sustained humanitarian action.
In another high-level engagement, Chairman Afridi sat down with U.S. Senator Cory Booker to discuss the far-reaching consequences of climate-driven floods in Pakistan. Their dialogue focused on building strategic partnerships to amplify SAF’s impact, underscoring the significance of global collaboration in restoring hope and rebuilding lives.
